Infectious diseases, caused by food, are a global problem nowadays that is why it is better to choose imported Italian food to be sure in the high level quality of the products you buy. It is very important for the health. Active import and export of food products in many countries creates the conditions for outbreaks known, and “exotic” diseases. The food safety has become a priority issue for both consumers and producers and government agencies. Recently several outbreaks of infections transmitted through food happened. The other problem is the increasing risk of terrorist attacks. In most countries there are official bodies exercising control over the quality and safety of products, both, domestically produced and imported. Earlier the main purpose of these bodies was to identify counterfeit and toxic substitutes, but now it is also to focus on food safety in all aspects, including microbiological and toxicological, and at all stages of production, transportation and distribution.
